Prepares for a new case by erasing any currently displayed case data.

Saves the parameters of a case that can then be used as a template for future cases. Saved information on template excludes patient demographic and trends screen information, drug and fluid amounts as well as comments.
Recalls any previously saved template. Note: function will not work if any drug or fluid amounts have been entered in the newly started case.

Click the "Anesthesia" button to officially start the anesthesia case (usually as the patient is brought into the room). The current time is displayed but can be edited if needed. Click the button again to end the case (when ready to print or save your record). A dialog box will appear and display an “End of Case" comment, along with the option to modify the end of anesthesia time.
Click the "Operation" button to record the operation start and end times.

Click the "Induction" button to record the induction time (this data point is recorded automatically when the patient pre-oxygenation is started).

Click the "Intubation" button to record the time of intubation.

Click the "Fluids Total" button any time during the case to calculate the volume of fluid that has been administered to date.

Click the "Urine Output button at any time during the case to record the volume of urine excreted.

Click on the "Estimated Blood Loss" button at any time during the case to calculate the estimated blood loss.

Click the "Gas Flows" button (or hit F3 function key) to document a change in the gas flows. Once a gas flow value is entered, that value will be automatically carried forward until changed again.
Click the "Enter Data" button (or hit F5 function key) to manually enter or edit any patient monitoring data during the case.

Click the "Fluids Now" button (or hit F6 function key) to automatically document hanging another bag of your previously configured standard fluid.

Click the "Ventilation Calculations" to calculate ventilator changes required to reach a target ETCO2.

Click to select and record a preconfigured comment used with high frequency (e.g. “Timeout completed to confirm Patient ID and Procedure”).

Click to select and record a second preconfigured comment used with high frequency (e.g. “Antibiotics given per surgeon request).

Click the "Reminder" button to set a timed reminder for an action at a later time in the case (e.g. Administer 2nd dose of antibiotics).

Click the "Print" button to print a copy of the case anesthesia record. eREC will call up a review page before printing begins.
